Abbeyford Leisure renews sponsorship deal with St Andrews United

St Andrews United is delighted to announce that arrangements have been finalised for the sponsorships of both the home and away shirts for seasons 2015-16 and 2016-17.

In a show of tremendous commitment, and reflecting great integrity on the part of both organisations, Abbeyford Leisure and Barnetts of St Andrews will again see their names and logos adorning the football club’s shirts, front and back.

Two years ago, both companies signed up to support the local football club in this way, in a move that saw Barnetts’ name appear on the home kit, with the Abbeyford Leisure brand displayed on the away kit. A “gentleman’s agreement” reached at the time between these principal sponsors meant that the assignment of kits would be reversed two years later. And so it has transpired, with Abbeyford Leisure set to appear on the home shirts and Barnetts on the away.

St Andrews Utd is delighted that things have worked out so well. Commercial Manager John Drysdale commented: “These deals reflect superbly on the professionalism and reliability of both Abbeyford Leisure and Barnetts, as local businesses of great repute. Our football club is delighted to be associated with such ‘blue riband’ companies, and will do everything in our power over the next two years to justify their faith in St Andrews Utd.”

Sales and Marketing Manager at Abbeyford Leisure, Peter Davies, was equally delighted with how things were progressing: “Abbeyford Leisure is committed to supporting healthy lifestyles in the communities in which we operate. And, of course, we are keen to develop our brand recognition in our areas of operation, including St Andrews, St Monans, and Elie. The football club and its management and players, have been great to work with over the past two years, and we seek to go from strength to strength with them over the next two.”

And new General Manager at Barnetts of St Andrews, Bryan Muir, also expressed his enthusiasm: “We look forward to seeing our company name and the world-famous VW logo feature on St Andrews Utd shirts as they travel through East Central Scotland next season. And with so many local rivals especially round Fife, the Barnetts brand and reputation will spread with the football team! We have major plans for the coming year, and will be working closely with the football club to develop our campaigns”.
