Abbeyford Leisure says 'slainte' to Kingsbarns Distillery

Abbeyford Leisure says

Abbeyford Leisure and Kingsbarns Distillery have come together to bring added value to those visiting the Kingdom of Fife this summer. Holiday guests and owners at Abbeyford Leisure’s St Andrews, Elie and St Monans Holiday Parks can now enjoy a guided tour at the world renowned distillery at a preferential rate of £9 per person. Kids aged 8 and over go free (not suitable for under 8s).

Sales and Marketing Manager at Abbeyford Leisure, Peter Davies, said: “We’re delighted to be working with Kingsbarns Distillery and Visitor Centre. We always strive to offer our customers the very best added value experiences and our partnership with Kingsbarns Distillery complements our portfolio of local company relationships including Elie Watersports, Anstruther Golf Club, AM Soccer to name but a few."

Douglas Clement, Founder and Director of Kingsbarns Distillery is equally pleased. “Our location in the East Neuk (just 3 miles from Crail) is within easy reach of the holiday parks and a visit to the distillery makes for a great day out for all the family. The hour-long tour is very educational and includes a wee dram in one of our tasting rooms.”

From Dream to Dram

While working as a golf caddie at neighbouring Kingbarns Golf Links, it was Douglas Clement’s vision that first inspired the idea for a distillery at Kingsbarns. His determined belief in the project and an unfettered passion for single malt whisky has been instrumental in bringing the dream to life.

He partnered with the Wemyss family from Fife. Wemyss has long associations with the whisky industry and the whiskies currently available at Kingsbarns are all from Wemyss Malts.

The spirit of Kingsbarns is slowly maturing and will be ready to bottle from 2018.
