Willie Rennie zips along to Elie Holiday Park
Willie Rennie, Leader of the Scottish Liberal Democrats and MSP for north east Fife enjoyed a trip down memory lane today on a visit to award-winning Elie Holiday Park and couldn't resist giving the zip wire a go at the park's renowned Robinson Crusoe Adventure Park attraction.
Surrounded by palm trees the adventure park takes the form of a two-masted sailing ship linked to a fantasy desert island and reflects the area’s connection with famous Lower Largo sailor, Alexander Selkirk.
With his feet firmly back on terra firma, Willie met with Abbeyford Leisure Sales Director, Kevan Lodge and Park General Manager, Tom Moore and sampled some of the other park highlights including the popular Castaway holiday homes nestled behind the sand dunes at Shell Bay, before enjoying a coffee in The Mirador Café.
Willie said: "My family were frequent visitors to the park over many years. I was genuinely impressed by the investment that the owners have made to this site including the bar, café and play park. The latest holiday homes are also very impressive. Combined with the stunning location just off the Fife Coastal Path this is an ideal location for a holiday. I can confirm that the zip wire is as thrilling as it looks!”
