Pedal for Scotland 2013
Abbeyford Leisure's Geoff Little, is joining a team of 12 intrepid individuals from Companion Care Vets and Pets at Home on a gruelling cycling challenge from Glasgow to Edinburgh to raise money for charity.
Thousands of cyclists are expected to take part in the classic Pedal for Scotland freshnlo event on Sunday 8th September. The 47-mile classic ride is Scotland's biggest bike ride and uses a mixture of closed roads, cycle paths and quiet streets.
The St Andrews Holiday Park General Manager is relieved to discover that there are refreshment stops every 10 miles and says:"You could say that I haven't done as much training as my counterparts, but I'm sure my ex-military training will kick-in and I will just keep going! After 25 years in the Army, this will be giving something back to Forces personnel".
You can check out Geoff's progess on Twitter on Saturday 8th September.
Abbeyford Leisure is delighted to support the chosen charities Hounds for Heroes and Support Adoption for Pets and will also provide a vehicle to transport the team's bicycles.
Hounds for Heroes provides specially trained assistance dogs to injured and disabled men and women of both the UK Armed Forces and Civilian Emergency Services. Support Adoption For Pets is an animal charity which helps give abandoned and homeless pets a second chance of happiness.
