Abbeyford Leisure helps keep St Andrews beaches barefoot friendly
Abbeyford Leisure joined a team of over 80 volunteers on the golden sands of St Andrews' West Sands beach on Saturday to help keep the beach barefoot friendly.
Now running for its seventh year, the Barefoot Wine Beach Rescue Project will visit 14 locations on a coast-to-coast tour of the UK. Campaign ambassador, wildlife enthusiast Kate Humber said: “Barefoot Wine will be hosting Beach Rescue Projects from May and we are urging local communities to get involved. We are extremely lucky to have such beautiful beaches in our country - it’s only right we do what we can to create coastal communities that exist in harmony with nature.”
Barefoot Wine is again teaming up with Surfers Against Sewage (SAS) - a registered charity that champions environmental causes such as the protection of the UK’s oceans, waves and beaches. Working together for cleaner beaches, the St Andrews community can look forward to a summer of ‘fun in the sun’ after making their beach clean for all to enjoy.
Yona Ellis, Barefoot Wine Marketing Manager, says, “Barefoot Wine is proud to be working with Kate Humble for the Barefoot Wine Beach Rescue Project. Her support is sure to inspire the Fife community to pull together and help make West Sands ‘barefoot friendly’.”
