The East Neuk of Fife is without doubt the jewel in the Kingdom’s crown. Lush, green countryside, golden beaches and rugged cliffs intersperse with delightful fishing villages, breathtaking coastal walks and the world’s best golf courses. Detailed below are a few ideas for some great days out and at reception you’ll find a host of leaflets detailing all the best local attractions Fife has to offer.
St Monans Church
The origins of St Monans Parish Church date back to 875 when St Monan (or possibly one or more of his bones) was buried here and a shrine was established to venerate his memory. Today's St Monans Parish Church remains a striking and intriguing building. The Fife Coastal Path passes along the base of the protective wall sheltering St Monans Church from the sea.
St Monans Windmill
A short stroll from the park is the recently restored St Monans Windmill, which was used to pump the salt water into the saltpans for drying. It takes approximately 32 tons of sea water to produce 1 ton of salt.
St Monans fishing harbour
Spend the afternoon watching the traditional Fife fishing boats come and go at St Monans delightful harbour.
