Supporting the Fife Coastal Path for the future
Fife Coast and Countryside Trust have released their latest update, recognising the continued support from guests staying with Abbeyford Leisure.
During the 2025 season, Abbeyford Leisure guests raised £867 through small voluntary donations added at the point of booking. These contributions help support the ongoing maintenance and development of the Fife Coastal Path.
A long-standing partnership
This forms part of a long-standing partnership between Abbeyford Leisure and the Trust, which now spans close to ten years. Over that time, more than £5,200 has been raised by Abbeyford Leisure and its guests to help protect and enhance the coastal path and surrounding areas.
Supporting the places our guests love
The Fife Coastal Path links Abbeyford Leisure’s holiday parks in St Andrews, Elie and St Monans, along with cottages in Lower Largo. Access to the coastline is a key part of many stays, and guests value the opportunity to give something back to the places they enjoy.
How the donations make a difference
The Trust manages and maintains the path as part of its wider work across more than 70 sites throughout Fife. Through its Big Green Footprint Scheme, businesses can support this work in a number of ways, including inviting customers to make a small contribution.
Abbeyford Leisure was one of the founding members of the scheme and continues to offer guests the option to add a £1 donation when booking. These contributions support essential maintenance and wider conservation efforts. This year, Abbeyford Leisure is also contributing to the replacement of coastal safety markers, helping emergency services locate people along the coastline more quickly.
In their words
David Evans, Chairman of Abbeyford Leisure, said:
“We are so pleased to see our guests’ continued generosity. Many come here year after year to relax, explore and enjoy the coast, and it is wonderful that they also want to contribute to looking after it. Fife Coast and Countryside Trust do fantastic work preserving this area’s natural beauty, and we are proud to support them with our visitors’ help.”
Jeremy Harris, CEO of Fife Coast and Countryside Trust, added:
“Our huge thanks once again to all the holidaymakers who contributed and to Abbeyford Leisure for their continued support. Like us, they are a local organisation who love and care for our special places and want to see them protected for future generations.”
Looking ahead
This latest update highlights the impact Abbeyford Leisure guests continue to make, helping to ensure the Fife Coastal Path is protected and maintained for years to come.
